Steel platforms: equipment, connections and panels
When a platform radiates noise, first decide whether it comes from the equipment, the connections or the panels, then define where to coat.
Three possible sources
Equipment excitation, transmission through connections and panel response each call for different measures. Recording equipment status and where the noise appears helps decide which part the damping coating should cover.
Material and platform structure
Before selection, define the coating area, service temperature, allowable added weight, and primer and topcoat conditions, then check compatibility on a representative platform structure.
Sample and application notes
During application, check substrate condition, coverage, drying conditions and any subsequent protective layer, and keep batch and area records.
Verification conditions
Compare platform vibration and the sound at the target position under identical equipment status, load and measurement points. Keep separate records for the sample, visual inspection and on-site acceptance.
Tell us the platform substrate, equipment duty and where the noise appears, and we will discuss the scope of verification.
