Improving the lift ride through application-driven refinement
Vibration and noise in a lift car mostly come from the vibration of its metal structure in motion. A water-based damping layer on the inner metal surfaces is one way to make the ride quieter.
Vibration
The coating forms a soft protective layer on the metal. Elastomer polymer particles in it absorb vibration energy and turn it into a small amount of heat, reducing resonance of the metal structure.
Noise
The coating is soft and absorbs and spreads the energy of mechanical noise; the particles slow sound waves through internal friction and collisions, lowering the noise level.
Environment and durability
Compared with conventional paint coatings, the environmental and hazardous-substance indicators of a water-based system follow test reports. The coating adheres well and fills tiny dents, which helps cut resonance and echo; the details are assessed against project requirements.
