Reducing vibration and noise on lift car floors
The car floor passes vibration straight to passengers' feet, and footsteps are made here too, so the floor is part of the ride.
Problems on the floor
The floor vibrates while the lift runs, and the vibration reaches the soles of the feet; footsteps and other noise also echo in the car.
What the damping layer does
A uniform damping layer on the floor surface absorbs and spreads vibration energy so less reaches the feet, and absorbs and dissipates footsteps and similar noise, turning them into a small amount of heat.
Wear and environment
The floor must withstand long use and frequent footsteps, and the coating should stay adhered and tidy; this is assessed against the project's technical conditions. Safety and hazardous-substance indicators follow test reports.
