AN2-700
AN2-700 Water-based damping coating
Damping
AN2-700 is a water-based damping coating applied to metal panels to suppress vibration noise. Typical uses listed in our data include noise reduction of cars, trains, ships, box-type structures and similar equipment, and extended uses such as incinerators, elevators, ventilation ducts and power stations. Up to 5 mm wet film can be applied in one pass, approx. 4–4.5 mm when dry.

- Storage
- at least nine months in sealed original packaging; keep dry and cool, protect from frost
- Packaging
- 25 kg pails; 250 kg steel drums (with liner bag); 1200 kg bulk bags (with liner bag)
Application notes
- Steel with a rust-inhibiting primer, galvanised steel, anodised aluminium, coil steel and similar; remove dust, oil and grease from the substrate and test compatibility before use.
- Use airless equipment with a pump ratio of at least 60:1, air-assisted equipment with a 12:1 pump ratio, or screw-pump equipment with 3–4 bar input pressure; manual spraying equipment such as Spatula or Mortar types can also be used.
- During application keep the coating surface even with no missed areas and use clean equipment where possible; a dried coating can be overcoated with other commercial coatings (one- or two-component, with or without solvent), and compatibility should be tested before application.
- On train bodies and containers make sure the floor has drain holes so that a wetted coating can dry.
- Clean with water promptly after application, adding household cleaner if needed. See the product MSDS for safety and disposal information.
