LASD and robotic application: an efficient route to vehicle noise reduction
Liquid Applied Sound Deadener (LASD) is a liquid sound-damping material designed to remove structure-borne noise. Combined with robotic spraying it can be applied precisely and flexibly.
Material features
LASD absorbs and dissipates vibration energy and converts structure-borne noise into heat, lowering cabin noise. Its formulation can be adjusted for vibration at different frequencies, so different noise problems can be addressed specifically.
Robotic spraying
The robot sprays at each vibration point in the cabin according to a preset programme and controls the amount sprayed, which helps spread the coating evenly; whether this reduces material waste or raises production efficiency depends on the actual equipment, programme and process evaluation.
Flexible production
When the model changes, the preset programme can be edited to support the changeover. The up to three formulations on a single line is an example from the original application method, not a universal Griweco capability; actual equipment, formulation compatibility and evaluation determine the outcome.
